Hillcrest vs Gelofte 6th June 2009. Getting ready to play barefoot rugby for the first time.
Playing hard, having fun and getting very dirty....
That's Kelsey on the left in the green/white shirt, pushing (or rucking as it's called) the opposition so his team mates can get to the ball... Looks pretty fierce to me. As you can see managed to get some photos downloaded onto my computer... having to use the basic windows photo editor... can't quite get my head around it but hey it's better than nothing...
Well I can't believe the change in the weather... :-(
On Friday last week we were still wearing short sleeved shirts and thin cotton trousers, but it was starting to feel a little chillier !!! ... Saturday mum and I dressed a little warmer and we were peeling the layers off like onions... temperature rose to mid 20's ...
Woke up Sunday morning to an overcast and cloudy sky, with a slight wind and at 9am it was still dark... Put the heating on, the vest on, the winter trousers on, the mammoths on and even the body warmer ... lmao!!! We kinda forget that it does get cold in Africa but what makes it worse is their houses here are not designed for the cold... Plus the fact the front door stands open all day for the dogs to go in and out !!!!! Now I know why the African women always walk around with blankets wrapped around their legs... guess who's going out to buy herself a cozy blanket !!!!
I had a relatively child free weekend... remember I told you last post that I'm now a Taxi Mum, well Matthew's mum called me on Friday and asked if Kelsey wanted to go home with them after rugby on Saturday and sleep over Saturday night, Kelsey was over the moon... I can't decide which he was most excited about this weekend, going to the movies on Friday night to see X-Men Origins - Wolverine, playing barefoot rugby or the sleepover at Matts place... But we managed to squeeze all this excitement into 1 weekend, Kelsey arrived home yesterday afternoon at about 4.30pm and by 5.30pm he was fast asleep in bed ... slept right through, I tried to wake him for his dinner but he was'nt interested...
Finally I have found someone who can tire my boy out ... lmao.
I spent the weekend reading... knitting!!! (aunty June's birthday present) and even some beading !!! Won't show you the results just yet!!!! (have my reasons for that - all will be revealed later)
At 5.30am this morning it was bloody freezing and wet too... it had been raining thru the night... Mum and I won't be venturing too far today, we're sat here huddled around a little fire. Spending this time here in June's house is showing me all the 'extras' I'm gonna need in my place when it finally gets finished ... and the ducted aircon/heating definately sounds like a good choice... :->
