Had such a wonderfully regenerative day today .... CRAFT SHOPPING ....
And with some truly amazing friends too ... Sharon arrived at my place this morning ready for the off ... then Julie and Gail arrived and 4 Craft Gals set off to Doncaster ... to The Stamp Magic Show ...
I didn't even get in the front gate before being accosted by Ali from Ali-Craft & Mary Bilton ... of course with the phrase "what are you doing here ???" (boy was I to hear that a lot today !!!) Left Sharon with my entrance fee to go and interrupt Jayne & Karen having their "breaky !!!" ("W R Y D H") "and funny you should be here we were just talking about you " ... strange heard that a bit too ... (not my fault I'm such a good subject and well worth talking about !!!)
Managed to get through the front door before being accosted by a very pregnant (OMG congratulations I did'nt know) Sharon from Glitter Magic... who then dragged me over to Giles Craft Kits and the whole gang where there ... Mick, Mel & Lisa (who too had just been talking about me !!! did'nt ask if it was on a positive note LOL ) a good half an hour of gossip later and I made my way around the corner to Craftwork Cards (they were in my old corner spot LOL) and had a lovely long chat with Sue ... Richard managed a HI ... (well he was very busing serving customers, while Sue and I caught up ... xxx )
Grabbed a quick few words with Ali from Ali-Craft again ... Iain was surrounded by women, he was demonstrating ... (lucky man he! he!) had to by pass Gordon at Once upon a Stamp way too many people to fight to get there !!! ;-) but a very quick Hi to the galls from The Craft Room in Newark . I managed to get to Gordon on my second time round ... missed Rob though ... where were you angel ??? (gardening HA ! likely story ??? will catch up with you later this week xxx)
Then it was Roy (aka Grumpy ... who made no bones about the fact his brother Grumpy was not there to keep him company and put the world to rights !!! ) and Ali from Dimension Fourth another (W.R.Y.D.H?) and a good ole' gossip and catch up ...
Eventually got myself over to the other side of the hall ... had a lovely long chat and catch up with Wendy from WS Designs ... (sorry didn't manage to get back there ) had a lovely long catch up with Alex from Lex Crafts and finally found Paula from Which?Craft Doncaster ... who again I had a lovely long chat and catch up with ... (but I was not the customer who had travelled the furthest to her show today... apparently someone from New Zealand beat me to that title ... bugger maybe next time !!)
And there I thought I'd just about seen everyone till I realised I'd missed out the middle section of the hall and had to start again ... found Wendy & Hubby (who's name I always forget but I think it's Martin???sorry :-) from Cardio, who confused the hell out of me cos their stand name was (???something else & I can't remember that either!!!) and not Cardio ... which was the reason I had missed them in the first place ... but it's the new name for their own brand of products ... acrylic peg stamps that are even more gorgeous looking than the wooden ones ...
And I just have to mention the lovely couple from National Gold Card Co.. (who again I can not remember the names ... but they just started doing the shows around about the time I was starting to pack up) and they are 2 of the loveliest people ever ... the gentleman (girls you'll know who I mean ... they're the couple that sell the gold foiling machines ,... ) made my day by telling me how "fresh and cool I was looking and how where ever it was I had come from was doing me the world of good cos I looked so good" ... (such a charmer that young man !!! ) And even more so cos we were all flaking out with the heat in the hall today ....
And of course in between all the 'exhibitors' all the other friends I bumped into ... Glenis (see you Thursday sweetheart), Jean (no darling, sorry I'm not coming back) and the other half-a-dozen or so faces I recognised or recognised me and we stood & gossiped, caught up ....
What a truly awesome fantastic and wonderful day ... it sooo reminded me of what it is about the shows that I miss ... the feeling of being a member of a wonderful family, of being thought of, remembered ... ok maybe even talked about too ... but today brought it all back to me ... so everyone ... or anyone who happens to be following my blog pass it onto the others ... THANK YOU for making today really memorable ....
Even the ones who managed to get me to part with Pauls hard earned money PMSL xxx
