Out of the Bush Again !!!

Firstly I have to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who sent me Birthday Wishes ... yet again I was thoroughly spoilt ... by everyone ... but had a really great day ...

Secondly ... CONGRATULATIONS to Juno & Steven on the birth of their Baby Daughter Tayton ... who arrived at 17h05 on my Birthday ... so now I have NO excuse to forget her birthday do I ???

Well here we are out of the Bush again ... what can I say other than we had yet another Fantastic Fandaby-dosy and Brilliant week with Ben, Nan & the Kids ... sorry if you're gonna get bombarded with the most amazing photos (oooh modesty) of the stunning wildlife we saw (AGAIN !!! ) and I "rabbittt" on a bit about the great time we had ....

Our week started as always with an uneventful but a bit of a long journey up to Mokopane/ Polokwane ... Oh firstly mum did a 'tuck & roll' at my brothers place ... she stayed there for the week ... and we were greeted by our 'Bush' family and a huge bowl of Vetkoek & Mince for dinner ... it was damned hot and the evening was lovely ... of course several glasses (oops bottles) of alcohol were consumed ....

We didn't stay up too late cos Ben informed us we were feeding the Elephants on Sunday morning !!! (well the joke was on Ben last time we went to Entabeni cos we spent quite a few days looking for the elephants and considering the size of the beautiful creatures all we saw was the torn bark and poop they left behind !!! ) SO Ben made sure we saw them this time and boy was the wait worth it ... Gaby - a lady that works with Ben is studying the herd, their eating habits, their movements etc ... and so to make sure we saw the herd at its best we were allowed to tag along on the mornings expedition .... All I can say was WOW what beautiful creatures .... such a shame they are still poached & hunted to almost extinction ....

On our morning trip we also had the pleasure of watching about 8 hippo's bobbing and wallowing in one of the dams ... Ben said it was unusual to spot so many of them at the same time ... but it was a bit overcast when we first set out ... although both Nan & I ended up with sunburn before the morning was out ...
