A 4 day weekend !!!

Yup you read it right ... we've had a 4 day weekend ... O.i.A

Today is a public holiday - Freedom Day !!! so as it fell on a Tuesday the local schools decided they would also give the kids Monday off too ... so, now we know what a 4 day weekend feels like ... and boy is it a bit confusing ... I don't actually know what day of the week it is ???

BUT I have decided that 3 day weekends are good, 4 days not so good ... Kelsey coped with Saturday/Sunday and yesterday ... today he's been 'bored' even though he has a new PS3 game to play ... and he's eating me out of house and home ... maybe that's cos he's bored ???

Jason (a.k.a Harry) & him begged me on Friday night to let Kelsey go to Jason's for a sleepover, I had to play the thoughful mum (for a few seconds !!! LOL) ... I'm only joking, I love the fact that Kelsey has a new friend (a rugby buddy) and because they don't go to the same school it means they don't get 'fed up' with each other. Kelsey loves going round there cos they have a huge garden with "tons of stuff to do" (unquote). I was a bad mum on Saturday afternoon when I had to collect him ... but last week he complained about having hurt his back and Cindy said he'd complained about a sore ankle on Friday night ... so Aunty Iris (who is a pysiotherapist) had a look at Kelsey's back and his foot for him on Saturday afternoon !!!

Aunty Iris (that's mum's friend who she had gone to the Wild Coast Sun with for the week !!! Gambling !!! ) had to go back home to JHB on Sunday ... so I made sure before she left I had a good back/shoulder/leg & foot massage too .... OOOOh heaven ....

But hopefully I made it up to Kelsey cos on Sunday before we took Aunty Iris to the airport I took him back to Jason's place and left him there for the day ... (Poor Cindy & Robin - Jason's parents LOL) The two boys decided to 'clean out' their store room ... Kelsey came home with an old typewriter ... he has had so much fun trying to get it to work !!! Mind you driving me crazy with the clack clack of the keys !!!!

I've had a great weekend ... been a very 'busy bee':-) ... getting ready for my 'craft stall' at the schools Family Fun Day... 8th May ... decided I'm going to let the kids 'make their own ... personalised bracelets, bag charms, cell phone charms and anything else they care to make in beads with their names on !!!

But of course I have to make a few as demo models and to get my pricing right ... ;-)

This is my little beading corner ... in fact it's not actually a corner ... it's kinda in the middle of the dining room just against the wall ... ok enough of that ... I work on this table cos it's easy to pick up and move around the house, to where ever the lights good !!! {what can I say I'm weird like that !!! }

It's official ...

Winter is here !!!

The extra blankets on the bed, the vests are on, the chords & long sleeved shirts are out, the gillet is never far away and the mammoths are on the feet ....

Next it'll be fires on (when we go an buy another 2!!!! ) and then we begin the hibernation !!!!

Brrrrrr!!!

W.T.F woke up this morning to WINTER !!! Just like that ... yesterday still had the crop trousers and t-shirt on ... overnight seems Jack Frost visited (well not literally) and today it's bloody freezing !!!! ;-(

We had a helluva thunder storm last night (unusual for this time of the year !!! In winter we don't usually get rain, but the gale force winds seemed to have blown in the cold !!!!) Oh! well yet more for me to moan about LOL.

T.G this week is finally over !!! I think this has definitely been my week from hell ... The school projects are handed in and there's no homework on Fridays !!! LOL... AND we have a very long extended weekend ... Tuesday is a public holiday : Freedom Day, so school decided they'd also take Monday off as an inset day ... so a 4 day weekend whoop! whoop!

Oh! forgot to mention, the best day of this week Tuesday, got together with the school girlfriends for a Belated Birthday Breakfast (Eggs Benedict! Excellent choice madam !!!) ... yummy stuff and was spoilt by belated birthday pressies too ... now what's wrong with that ???

And just had to include the bestest ever girlfriend ... Tayton celebrating too cos she was born on my Birthday !!!! She enjoyed her first Girly Breakfast ... I'm sure first of many to come !!!!

The answer is NO !!!

Why is it that as soon as someone says the words "we need a volunteer" my bloody arms shoots up to the sky ???

Well I HAVE got to learn to say NO!!! (yeah right like that's gonna happen???)

I'm not even gonna say the words like "where is the time flying too" heard them all too often ... my life just seems so crazy at the moment ... as Nan said the other day "you have to go and check your head in the mirror to see if it's bruised from constantly bumping into yourself" !!! How true is that ??? But you want to know the most frustrating thing is that at the end of the day when I try to 'evaluate' what I've done it's a load of NOTHING !!!!

When I was in the corporate world it was all these training seminars etc .. on 'Time Management' etc ... well help I need time management on simple LIFE ... forget the business world ...

But then being The Princess of Procrastination ... I guess that could account for at least 25% of my time (PMSL) then blogging (especially when our titnternet is so bloody slow) that has to account for another 25% !!! LOL

Yesterday morning I actually stood in the kitchen and made a mental 'time plan' to see what else I could do whilst I was waiting for the toast to pop up !!!! Because I have to have my toast buttered while it's hot, and was there enough time to go to the loo, feed the dog and the birds, switch on the computer and make a cuppa before that toaster went PING !!! (I'm sure this disease has a special name !!!! )

Crazy comes to mind ...

Kelsey's homework is driving me crazy at the moment too ... this term they don't only have regular type homework, but as it's a 'shortened' term and they don't really have time for end of term tests (thanks to the bloody World Cup) they are being 'assessed' based on 'Homework Projects' (W.T.F). So the weekend was spent researching TB !!! He had to make an 8 page information leaflet on 'Living with Tuberculosis' !!!! (Yup you read right) Then ... his ZULU Project is to make a spread sheet of the 13 Official Tribes of South Africa ... with their English and Zulu names, pictures of their traditional dress and their traditional food ( 5 chuffing hours on the NET Tuesday and Wednesday trying to find this stuff !!!! aaaarrrrgh !!! Scream! Scream! rant & rave )

No wonder we are sitting down to eat dinner at 8.30pm every night ... and crashing into bed at 9pm !!! Knackered cos 5.30am that alarm goes off and I want to smash it to pieces !!! I need a lot more than Anti-Depressants at this stage !!!!! (Maybe a new life in a straight jacket and a padded cell !!!!)

And 'Wonder Mom' still sticks her bloody arm up when they say ... "we need someone to help with ....."

A Sad Farewell ...

I received some very, very, very, sad news last night ... Mackie-Doodles (Nan's Scottie Dog) had to be put down ...

He was a 'gorgeous' little bugger but was always chasing after the cars in the driveway ... and unfortunately yesterday Nan's neighbour had been at their house , and even though he had already stopped and chased Mackie away once and he checked all around the car before he pulled off, Mackie did not get out of the way fast enough.

He was still a puppy really and had such a lovable character, (once you got to know him ) ... even though he could be quite nasty too ... I mean at Christmas while Nan was visiting us, Mackie had stayed at Nan's mums and he bit her because she tried to save him from drowning !!!

He was a true 'terrier' with a very short fuse ... maybe cos of his very short legs ... when Nan fed him he used to get angry with his food bowl if it moved around the floor ... he had us in stitches ...

He would go walking with the kids when they went into the bush and he would come back covered in 'burrs' ... Nan even said there was a time when his mouth and one eye was fastened closed with these 'burrs' !!!

Now remember Nan lives on a Game Reserve and they have an electrified fence all the way around their property and while we were there at Easter Paul, Mackie and the kids went walking ... before you knew it Mackie had slipped under the electric fence and no amount of calling or coaxing would get him back in !!! In the end Kelsey had to run along the fence line with Mack on the other side till they got to the gate to let him back into the property ...

Paul and Kelsey decided they would give Mack a bath while we were up there ... Nan was convinced he would bite Paul because of his short temper ... meanwhile Paul & Kelsey put him in the bath ... he stood there loving all the extra attention he was getting ... and he didn't even object when they had to put the cold 'doggy dip' on him ... when he came out he was all lovely and clean and soft and fluffy ... it only lasted 5 minutes because before you knew it he was back outside in the wet damp grass and mud !!!!

Because he was so short he seemed to drag all the dirt and mud along with him ... his hair under his tummy was always knotted ...

He loved a game of footie !!! maybe that's the Scottish in him LOL

He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten ... Ben, Nan & Kids our hearts and prayers go out to you and remember:

'People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life -

like loving everybody all the time and being nice.

Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long.

That's how long it took me to sort all this lot out !!! Can you believe it ???
But I just had to take a photo of all my purchases ... yes I did go a little bit over-board, (again) but it's a disease you know and one of these days I will find the strength to go to 'Craft Buying Anothermouse' and stand up there and admit my problem ... but right now I just don't have the strength, used it all up sorting thru my stash!!! (PMSL)

Do you know how therapeutic it is to plunge your hands into this lurverly bowl of sparkly beads & stuff ... very tactile ... just makes you wanna keep a bowl like this on your coffee table for those de-stressing moments !!!

Ok enough talking 'Kaak' ...

I so did not want to get up this morning ... it was very dark !!! And I was all nice and cozy in bed ... dreaming of all the luverly creations I'm gonna make ... but I forced myself up ... it was a bit chilly this am although the sun is shining now ...

Phew !!! Aqua was tough this morning ... we went to a different pool ... Kerry closes her pool for the winter (I might have mentioned that before ???) and even though her pool is heated it is outdoors, so Lana has been looking for an alternative for us all to go to ... today's pool was nice ... indoors, water temp 28c ... (I think my baths are cooler !!! LOL) and the pool is the same depth from one side to the other ... all these make for a good aqua pool BUT it may be a little too shallow ... only goes to waist height .. and for aqua we need the water chest height !!!! Hence the reason todays work out was harder ... we had to stay crouched for most of the lesson (well I did!!! ;-). We gonna try another pool on Wednesday ... we'll see if that's any better/worse or whatever !!!

Gotta get my Scrapping/Crafting bags sorted for tomorrow ... I'm back ON at the school ... will keep you posted to just how many kids I get ... after all apparently I am competing with Girls Hockey this term !!! I mean really ... where's the competition ???

Mum & Iris went off on their Wild Coast Sun jaunt yesterday so the house is very quiet at the moment ... not that Mum makes that much noise but there's usually always someone around ... Kelsey & I can eat junk food all week if we want ... yeah !!!! AND I don't have to go do the 'usual' Pensioners Day run tomorrow !!!! woop woop !!!

I guess the bag of licorice Pontefract cakes I have just consumed has made me all a little excitable and hyper (LOL) so while I still have the energy ... get some 'stuff' done !!!!

P.S Paul I got lots of the square 'H's',so now we all sorted !!!

I thought I was clever ...

OH no here I was up at 5am this morning ... can't sleep ... the mind's all a buzz with 'stuff' and I thought lets have a go at blogging with the new phone ... spent an hour writing a great (even if I say so myself) little number ... BUT now I've lost it !!! So if anyone finds it floating in cyber space please send it back !!!

Seems I can Facebook on the phone but not mastered the art of blogging on it yet ... BUT I WILL ... so exactly what was this great piece ???

Me up at 5am on a Sunday morning ... are you sick woman ??? NO just went Bead shopping yesterday (again ... oops sorry Paul, gotta work a few more hours overtime I'm afraid) and the mind is all a buzz with the seriously exciting things I'm planning on creating (NOT) ... T.G for the little notebook by the bed that is filled with all the scrummy ideas !!! (The mind wants what the mind wants PMSL)

But we've all had an exciting weekend so far and yes it's only Sunday !!!

Mum's best friend Iris arrived here yesterday (in fact the reason I went overboard with the bead shopping is really all Iris' fault ... she couldn't get an earlier flight !!! She gets free internal flights courtesy of her son working for one of the local airlines ... but she goes to the airport and has to wait for a free seat ... we'd made arrangements for her arriving here about 10ish ... she eventually arrived at 12.30 ... so can you see why it's all her fault I spent so much ??? More time = more browsing = more spend !!! ) So anyway ... Iris is here in DBN ... the wrinklies are going to The Wild Coast Sun for the week ... Gambling !!! (Have you ever?) I have to drop them off at the airport today so they can catch the shuttle bus up there !!! Sounds like a tough life this retirement thing !!! LOL ;-)

To add to my great weekend ... I was childless Friday night and all day yesterday !!! (does that make me sound like a bad mum ???) Kelsey went for a sleep over at a rugby buddy (Harry who's actually Jason ... best you don't ask !!! ) Friday night and then spent all day there yesterday too ... in fact he didn't want to come home at all ... Bad Mum for forcing him home !!! Sorry 'Sonshine' the fun's gotta end sometime (LOL). But he must have had a great time cos he was crashed out in bed by 9pm last night !!!

I actually went to bed at 9pm on Friday night !!! but was up by 2am ... couldn't sleep and that wasn't cos the mind was feeling creative !!! it was probably cos of the shock of an early night !!! Hey maybe that's why the body's all out of sinc. ... there's gotta be some unexplainable reason ... especially for me to get up at 5am on a Sunday ... I mean you all now how I love my lie-ins ...

Anyway this blog can't (I hope) go missing but while I'm rabbiting on I'm missing out on precious creative time !!! Promise I'll put photos up of the Creations !!! Or Not if they're too bad (LOL)

Gonna go get another cuppa tea ... have something to eat ... then get started !!!

Busy week? doing what ?

Heck it's Thursday again and it feels like I have had such a busy week ... but doing what ?

I know mum was doggy sitting on Monday and so I got back from Aqua ... did 3 loads of washing ... Oh! yeah read all my 300 odd e-mails I'd missed out on over the holidays ... before you know it collecting child ... homework (on the 1st day back - seriously) picking mum up ... cooking dinner and another day over !!!

Tuesday ... usual shopping for mum ... then NO crafting class BUT late lunch meant collecting Kelsey later ... home, homework, no electricity = late dinner ... bed ... there goes another day !!!

Yesterday ... Aqua (in FREEZING Cold water) now that winter is coming Lana is looking for an indoor pool for us ... and with all the electricity failures we've had this week it has been hard for Kerry to keep the pool temps up ... well she also 'closes' her lessons June & July so we would have had to look elsewhere ... so yup Lana good idea to find an indoor pool ... especially for me!!!

Then I just had to go and get my feet 'done' ... Marion was in a state of confusion ... she'd kinda double booked (bless her ... like she says it's either all or nothing !!!) so I did the patiently waiting thing !!! HAD to have the feet done !!!!

Next it was school run ... back to school for parents evening (of course Kelsey is just such a superstar and doing sooo well, not too much to talk about there) But Mum (me) is helping out with the Rem Units Fund Raising event - we're having a Sunset Picnic at the end of April ... with live musicians, bouncy castle and entertainers for the kids ... so I had to get my list of jobs from teacher !!!

Next onto Club Rugby practise ... and eventually home by 7pm ... Finally I have a new Fridge Freezer ... it was replaced yesterday afternoon after 4.30pm !!! only 3 weeks to get that right.

Talking of fund raisers ... the schools major fund raising day :Family Fun Day (FFD) is coming up again 8th May ... I have decided to book a table on the Craft Fair Section ... have what I think is a really cool idea ... especially for the kids ... I have bought thousands (yes I mean thousands) of different alphabet beads and coloured beads etc ... and the kids can come along and 'Design their own' PERSONALISED Bracelets, Keyrings, Phone Charms etc ... Nothing by half measures for me !!! ( not bad considering my usual motto is "love kids just can't eat a whole one !!!" )I've even got Kelsey wearing his own bracelet to school to advertise for me !!! and the teacher even said it's OK !!! Well it might be fun ... and by having a table I have a very good excuse not to get too involved in the running of other stuff on the day !!! (like the food stall that I always end up getting roped into !!!) I'll keep you posted on that ... :-0

So enough of this blogging ... gotta get back to some work (ha! Ha!) beading etc... well I have to have some samples to show the kids what to do !!!

Oh did I mention the great weather we are having at the moment ??? Yesterday it was incredibly hot ... I'm sure the temperature was well over the forecasted 33c !!! It's cooler in the mornings and at night ... in fact we had the patio door closed last night ... Indi was not happy about that ... so she lay at the door and cried ... when we let her out she lay over the door frame so we couldn't close the door again !!!Dumb Dog.

The leaves on the big tree in the front garden are changing colour ... maybe I should get the camera out and document the changing seasons... then again maybe not !!! (Making a bloody mess on the lawn they are !!! wonder if the garden service will pick them up - probably NOT)

The total lack of ??!!&& .....!!

You know there's one major thing that I can't stand and that is incompetence !!!! Now I know why I struggle to live here ...for me there's nothing worse than someone 'f...ing' up in the first place and then they still stuff up the fixing of it !!!!

What on earth is she waffling on about now ??? The lack of 'Service' in this country !!! God help all the tourists that are due to land here SOON and expect any kind of 'customer satisfaction' it is sooooo infuriating !!!

We bought a new Fridge Freezer 2 weeks ago ... when it arrived the back panel was 'popped OUT wards ... so it means the Fridge does not lie flush against the wall ... (OK it was not noticed upon delivery - cos I actually was not here when it was delivered ... mum & brother were here!!!) When I got in (from collecting Paul from airport, hence the reason mum & bro. were here to accept it) I noticed it stood too far out from the cabinet so ... I went straight back to the supplier ... and checked on the fridge freezers they have in the show room ...needless to say the back should NOT have looked like mine ... OK we were leaving to go to the BUSH on the Friday and the excuse was the 'company' rep had to check my fridge out ... (still waiting !!!!) BUT I contacted them the week we got back (last week) they said someone would be in touch (still waiting!!!) Yesterday I physically went into the shop ... bitched like a ...&%!! and was told they would replace it TODAY !!!!! (STILL WAITING!!!)

Now the problem is that I need to be here to let them in cos the Fridge Freezer is taller than the main gate entrance to the complex, so someone has to let them in by the side gate ... It is taller for deliveries .... and mum can't walk up there it's at the top of the complex ... and they also need to be let out by the same gate cos they are taking the 'damaged' fridge back !!!! I've been back on the phone again to them today (2nd time) and now suddenly they can't deliver it today it will have to be tomorrow !!!! W.T. FU..........................................!!!!!

I just can't cope !!!!!

I'm not paper crafting today with the kids ... wanna know why ... ooops we missed your class off the list ... another W.T.F ... the kids & mums were waiting for me in the car park yesterday morning to ask why I was not doing it !!! I didn't know I was NOT doing it !!! Oh teacher(organiser woman) says "you did not remind me to put you on the list "!!! "Oh but did I tell you to takes me off the list" !!! "NO you did not" so W.T.F !!!! Again

The sheer incompetence of it all !!!!

What was that I said about "woh is me! back to routine !!!" I lied !!!!

But hey ho the sun is shining ... the birds are singing ... the grass is growing... etc.etc.etc.

Oh!! but have you seen my new phone: just take a look at this pretty little thing ... I know Ann it's red BUT I intend to buy a 'phone skin' for it so you can't see the red !!! (p.s for those of you who don't know... red = my least favourite colour ... but I'm going thru the change !!! I mean did you see all the LOVe & Valentinesy stuff I did ???? and there was plentsh red in that !!!) PMSL !!!

Sad Night ...

So it's that time of the holidays again ... (The last night of the holidays I mean)!!! Dad leaving and early to bed tonight because it's back to school tomorrow ... back to some sort of routine again ... OH no it's also back to the 5.30am wake up call !!!

But we had a great couple of weeks together ... relaxed, had good weather, enjoyed good company ... managed to spend lots of money (now there's a surprise!!!)

The house feels very empty and quiet at the moment ... mind you I guess the fact that mum is also not home tonight, she's doggy sitting for Aunty June tomorrow, so she's having a sleep over ... adds to the sense of quietness ... 1 minute every room is full next there's only Kelsey, Indi & I ...

Just a quick one tonight ... back to normal tomorrow ... when it's back to the usual ramblings ...

Chapter 5 & hopefully up to date ...

In case you thought we forgot to craft .... wrong ! Nan & I did get some time to ourselves ... (we didn't go out on safari EVERY DAY you know !!!!)

Here's Nan (& Nicki) using soft pastel chalks to colour the pages of a 'Flip Flap Book' that we made ...

Nicki had to show us she was working hard too !!!
We folded our own pages ... coloured them and then made them into a mini book ... this one's mine in Blue & Green (although it looks yellow on here) , Nan made hers Brown & Orange neither of us are too sure what we're gonna use them for ... but does that matter ???
I also showed Nan how to make a Mini Handbag out of a sheet of 12 x 12 ... she gave her first handbag to her mum & dad filled with little Easter eggs ...

Then Nan commented on T-Bag folding that she'd heard about so we made a few cards ... using the basic Triangle & basic Square Folds ... Sometimes you can get so caught up in fancy stuff you tend to forget the basics ...

Now here is something I took a notion to ... Nan's mum had a HUGE bowl of multi-coloured ... BUTTONS ... and I decided we all needed bracelets to wear that colour co-ordinated with our outfits for the weekend ... so before you knew it I'd made us all a whole bunch of them ... Pinks, Browns, Yellows, Red for Lorraine ... Black & Grey for Nan. And I have to tell you they look really 'funky' on !!! (sorry I got a bit carried away with them I know so SAD !!!)

Something else Nan & I had in common ... we both had very special friends expecting baby's !!! So what else to do but make the appropriate 'Tag Book Card' for them ... Nan's friend had a baby boy ... and my friend Juno gave birth to a baby girl ... (Sorry Juno you're seeing this before I've actually given it to you ... well you can act surprised !!! ;-) And I'm sure it will be a lovely keepsake for Tayton)

Above: the inside ... the pages are coloured using the soft pastel chalks, randomly stamped in pink & brown ... I used a 6x6 sheet of Dovecraft Baby paper to make the little tag pocket and I even cut out some of the little characters from the paper to add another dimension to the card.

Nan followed the same basic procedures adding her own spin to the pages ... we both had a lot of fun making these ...

Something else a little different ... Nan's mum is the 'Designs by Lorraine' lady that makes me all my fabulous necklaces ... well I am her personal shopper (LOL) here in DBN for any unusual new beads ... of course I had to 'pop' into one of my favourite bead shops just before I went up to Nan's ... and lookey here ... something very new and very different ... you take a bunch of petal shaped beads ... some clear (fishing gut) wire!!! and you put them all together to form 'frosted roses' !!!! Of course if I had to get a Penny or Cent for every swear word issued whilst I was figuring out how to do the first one ... I'd be incredibly rich right now !!! PMSL

I started with Black & White but I think I may just have to do a few other colours too !!!

And then lastly I promised I'd show off all the lovely gifts I got from everyone for my Birthday... so here's the photo ... a lovely (too nice for outside) bird house from Nan, as well as a coffee mug and some lovely fluffy winter socks, Jane sent me over a mug too ... like I need persuading to quit chocolate!!! never as it says "I'm no quitter"... Sharon must have been a mind reader ... as soon as I saw the new Tim Holtz book I said to myself "myself you gotta get you one of those" and ta-da Sharon sent me one over ... so much better getting it as a gift.

My favourite perfume from June and of course she spoilt me with some money too to buy myself something nice ... Lawrence & Penny spoilt me as well with a set of gorgeous towels, Lovely Bubble Bath and Hand&Body Lotion AND chocolates ... Paul brought me the Dr Who Series Set !!! Can't wait for a cold,wet, windy day to have a DVD session ... and of course he spoilt me even more with charms for my Pandora bracelet AND and new Black & Silver Pandora Bracelet as well ... to start #3 !!! Nan's mum made me another stunning necklace and she also made me some more purple hearts to hang on my cupboards & in my clothes (it's a girl thing !!!) and my padded notebook & pen to keep by my bedside for all those inspirational ideas !!!

Oh forgot to mention the Gold Rolo Paul gave me ... you know the advert "do you love anyone enough to give them your last Rolo ? Well I now have a gold one !!! To keep forever !!!

And then finally ... don't forget all the lovely, lovely cards I received ...So glad most of them were handmade ... just wouldn't do for them to be shop bought ;-0!!!

And so I think my blogging should be almost up to date ... well except for what we've been up to this week ... but that will have to wait till tomorrow now cos I don't want you all falling asleep at your computers now do we ???

Chapter 4 ...

Easter Sunday ... can you spot where the Easter Bunny hid some of the eggs ???
First we went to church with Nan's mum & dad and then it was back to their house for a Hot Cross Bun Breakfast ... yummy ... I also got spoilt by Nan's mum as she had made me another(Designs by Lorraine) stunning necklace, I got a lovely 'purple gingham' covered notebook and matching ribbon pen ... and a lovely bottle of 'Lavender' Pillow Mist (photos of the PILE of goodies I got for my Birfday to follow - Chapter 5!!!) Then it was back to Nan's place and check it out ... the Easter Bunny had been busy hiding yummy eggs for the kids:

Management made an executive decision ... as we were travelling home on Monday we would celebrate my Birfday with Ben, Nan & the kids on Sunday Afternoon... after egg hunt ... Nan made me a stunning, deliciously, yummy Carrot Cake ... wif candles ... (21 of course)

And I got spoilt rotten by everyone ... who's a lucky girl ???

This is a wild mushroom ...They must have big fairies here too !!! LOL

One aspect of Entabeni is the Wildlife Conservation ... and they have just been getting (Ben had to get him settled in on Tuesday) an Orphaned Baby Rhino ... well an 8 month old - 800kg Baby Rhino !!!! He is sooooo cute (that's if you can call 800kg's CUTE ;-)He still needs to be bottle fed and he guzzles down 4litres of milk 3 times a day ... as well as chomping through tons of grass etc ... He'll still need to be 'bottle' fed till he's about 18months old, then the hope is to re-introduce him into the wild.

The Orphaned Baby Rhino in the Boma ... he was so gentle ... you could give him a stroke and his nose was sooo lovely and soft ... I didn't realise but their hide has very fine coarse hair on it ... in fact it can be a bit prickly ...

Apparently he loves rolling in the mud ... and he tends to scratch himself against the rails a lot too ... that's why he looks like he has bad scratches on him ...

You can see just how much rain we had ... this is the road outside Ben's office and here is one of the baby Zebra's (the true meaning to a Zebra Crossing... PMSL)
