Another really cool day ....

Had such a wonderfully regenerative day today .... CRAFT SHOPPING ....

And with some truly amazing friends too ... Sharon arrived at my place this morning ready for the off ... then Julie and Gail arrived and 4 Craft Gals set off to Doncaster ... to The Stamp Magic Show ...

I didn't even get in the front gate before being accosted by Ali from Ali-Craft & Mary Bilton ... of course with the phrase "what are you doing here ???" (boy was I to hear that a lot today !!!) Left Sharon with my entrance fee to go and interrupt Jayne & Karen having their "breaky !!!" ("W R Y D H") "and funny you should be here we were just talking about you " ... strange heard that a bit too ... (not my fault I'm such a good subject and well worth talking about !!!)

Managed to get through the front door before being accosted by a very pregnant (OMG congratulations I did'nt know) Sharon from Glitter Magic... who then dragged me over to Giles Craft Kits and the whole gang where there ... Mick, Mel & Lisa (who too had just been talking about me !!! did'nt ask if it was on a positive note LOL ) a good half an hour of gossip later and I made my way around the corner to Craftwork Cards (they were in my old corner spot LOL) and had a lovely long chat with Sue ... Richard managed a HI ... (well he was very busing serving customers, while Sue and I caught up ... xxx )

Grabbed a quick few words with Ali from Ali-Craft again ... Iain was surrounded by women, he was demonstrating ... (lucky man he! he!) had to by pass Gordon at Once upon a Stamp way too many people to fight to get there !!! ;-) but a very quick Hi to the galls from The Craft Room in Newark . I managed to get to Gordon on my second time round ... missed Rob though ... where were you angel ??? (gardening HA ! likely story ??? will catch up with you later this week xxx)

Then it was Roy (aka Grumpy ... who made no bones about the fact his brother Grumpy was not there to keep him company and put the world to rights !!! ) and Ali from Dimension Fourth another (W.R.Y.D.H?) and a good ole' gossip and catch up ...

Eventually got myself over to the other side of the hall ... had a lovely long chat and catch up with Wendy from WS Designs ... (sorry didn't manage to get back there ) had a lovely long catch up with Alex from Lex Crafts and finally found Paula from Which?Craft Doncaster ... who again I had a lovely long chat and catch up with ... (but I was not the customer who had travelled the furthest to her show today... apparently someone from New Zealand beat me to that title ... bugger maybe next time !!)

And there I thought I'd just about seen everyone till I realised I'd missed out the middle section of the hall and had to start again ... found Wendy & Hubby (who's name I always forget but I think it's Martin???sorry :-) from Cardio, who confused the hell out of me cos their stand name was (???something else & I can't remember that either!!!) and not Cardio ... which was the reason I had missed them in the first place ... but it's the new name for their own brand of products ... acrylic peg stamps that are even more gorgeous looking than the wooden ones ...

And I just have to mention the lovely couple from National Gold Card Co.. (who again I can not remember the names ... but they just started doing the shows around about the time I was starting to pack up) and they are 2 of the loveliest people ever ... the gentleman (girls you'll know who I mean ... they're the couple that sell the gold foiling machines ,... ) made my day by telling me how "fresh and cool I was looking and how where ever it was I had come from was doing me the world of good cos I looked so good" ... (such a charmer that young man !!! ) And even more so cos we were all flaking out with the heat in the hall today ....

And of course in between all the 'exhibitors' all the other friends I bumped into ... Glenis (see you Thursday sweetheart), Jean (no darling, sorry I'm not coming back) and the other half-a-dozen or so faces I recognised or recognised me and we stood & gossiped, caught up ....

What a truly awesome fantastic and wonderful day ... it sooo reminded me of what it is about the shows that I miss ... the feeling of being a member of a wonderful family, of being thought of, remembered ... ok maybe even talked about too ... but today brought it all back to me ... so everyone ... or anyone who happens to be following my blog pass it onto the others ... THANK YOU for making today really memorable ....

Even the ones who managed to get me to part with Pauls hard earned money PMSL xxx

Still Fuzzy ....

Woke this morning sort of feeling a bit better ... lasted about 15mins till the fresh air hit ... now it's back to runny nose and watery eyes !!! BUT I'm going to fight through this ... taken a huge dose of anti-histamines and some decongestants ... JUST gotta get out of bed otherwise I will just sleep the whole holidays away and not see anyone or do anything !!! AND have you seen the length of my list ???(missing out on all that shopping ..... nooooo ;-)

So sorry friends if I have not been in touch ... I really have been down in the dumps, feeling sorry for myself and not wanted to see anyone or do anything ... after all I can't see anyway with the runny eyes LOL !!! I don't remember the hay fever being this bad in years past ... but then again I have been away and I guess the immunities have now gone !!! ???

So I'm up and dressed today ... going to brave the elements and hang a load of washing outside, again - 2nd time this week ... in the sunshine!!! (maybe that's the problem !!!) ... the neighbours know I'm weird so they don't really comment on the face mask PMSL !!!! And then I'm off out to Lunch (1st of many I hope) with one of my Bezzie UK girlfriends ;-) ...you know who you are ;-0

I have to be better by Sunday ... I'm going CRAFT SHOPPING whooo hoo ... got my pennies saved ... and as I haven't done any shopping yet I still have a few of those (pennies I mean) so I hope I bump into loads of my other friends at The Stamp Magic Show in Doncaster ... (this is just a little hint in case there are some of you out there who are hoping to avoid me ... don't go there then !!!! ;-0 )

Kelsey is loving his time here with dad ... except maybe for yesterday ... cos Paul threw his toys way out of the cot with Hyundai ... at the moment the two of them are now driving around in a little Ford Ka ??? It looks so funny they literally have to fold themselves in and out of it !!!
Guess we won't be doing much 'family' travelling at the moment ??? Well not until Hyundai get their act together ... not worth going into it cos I just end up with blood pressure !!!
(Seems Customer Service has died along with his friend Conscious !!!)

So machine is now finished ... gonna brave the elements ... then going to put the face on ... no use doing that too early as the make-up don't last 5mins ... and I'll be off out ...

Let you know the outcome later ... ;-0

Hey Hey ... we're back in the UK ...

One way or another I intend to let everyone know I'm back in the UK ... got home to find Internet stuffing around - AGAIN !!!! I could just as well be in SA ????

Anyway ...

Had a fantastic week in Germany ... great to see all the family there ... Met Andrea's new hubby - Jurgen ... who despite not being able to speak a word of English made us feel very welcome and him and Paul ended up good friends. In fact they had to take Paul's car (just the 2 of them) to a Hyundai dealer on Saturday morning (cos the car played up on our journey there)and between the 2 of them, the technician, a load of mish mash German, English, Afrikaans and a ton of sign language they managed to find out what was wrong with it ...Unfortunately couldn't fix it properly they didn't have the part in Germany but Paul now has to take it to Hyundai in England (nightmare !!!!) But they patched it up good enough for us to get home !!! Well done Hyundai Paderborn, Germany ...

I don't think I've laughed as much in a long time as we did when all the gals got together ... Andrea and her sisters !!! You know it felt like we'd just seen each other last week not over 2 years ago !!! With it being Lara's Birthday just about the whole of the family where ... well the sisters at least ... never ones to give up the chance of a good party ... Angelica, Uta, Andrea & Inness ... only Kirsti was missing ...then there were all the kids too I hardly recognised any of them ... well actually some of them the last time I saw them they were still in nappies and now they're grown ups !!!! ;-) We spent a few hours and went through a fair few bottles of wine reminiscing ... In fact we got into trouble from the youngsters cos we was making way too much noise and embarrassing them LOL !!!! We sisters laughed soooo much none of us had any make-up left on .... oh it does you good to have a laugh like that !!!!

Well sadly we've left them again for ??? how long this time ? Andrea has promised her and hubby will come over for a visit ... although we did have Jurgen convinced about the lions roaming the streets ... some folks'll believe everything they're told LOL

I'm a sick puppy !!! Hoping it's a cold and not hay fever though cos the last thing I want is to feel like this for the rest of my holidays ... like Robin said on FB it's cos my systems only used to the clean air in Hillcrest LOL ... not the Ash clouds from the UK ... I'm a VAV ... Volcanic Ash Victim ... how sad is that??? They even have a name for it PMSL ...

Got back into England to SUNSHINE I know MG!!! What the hell ....AND I did something that I have not done in a LONG time here in England .... hung washing out to dry !!! In the sunshine (I know June/ Irena I just couldn't resist it the machine was calling my name when we got back !!! LOL) Now I've gotta go lie down ... the shock to the system etc ... PMSL

But just had to blog quickly between Internet bursts !!! Only have about 10 e-mails to send out and for some unknown reason can't manage to send them ... OOOOH but did manage to buy some things from Sizzix in their sale ... now isn't that a surprise !!!! (Oops sorry Paul ... hope you don't get to read this edition!!! ??) ;-0

Happy Fathers Day...

Wishing all the dads out there a very Happy Fathers day ... although here in Germany they celebrate Fathers Day in May ... But it is so nice to be able to spend the day today with Paul ...

Kelsey and his dad are busy working on ideas for his science project for school ... hey! may as well get dad to do something for school !!! ??? makes a change for me having to do it ... as I'm not exactly the most scientific person LOL ... hopefully Kelsey will understand what they've done by the time he gets home ??? If not then it's me and him back to the drawing board !!!

Yesterday we had a really good afternoon for Lara's Birthday Braai (BBQ) ... except for the seriously crap weather !!!! It rained, the wind blew and then the sun shone and I was sooooo cold ... and now I've woken this morning loaded up with cold !!! Sniffles and snuffles ... and feeling oooh so sorry for myself !!! Typical when I have the opportunity to be sick in bed and have the boys look after me and we're visiting !!!! Bet I'm all better by the time we go back to England !!!

Unfortunately can't share any photos with you cos Paul's laptop doesn't take an SD card so we have to wait till we get home and then I can use the main computer at home ... I'm sure I'll have plenty to share with you then ...

Overseas...

Finally we have arrived ... actually we've been here a few days now and I've only just managed to get online ... Hopefully I'll be able to post this after all this LOL...

Well our ferry ride was uneventful other than the bunch of Vespa Scooter riders that were on the boat ... Apparently they all descend on Europe for an invasion and then at the end of summer the European Vespa riders invade England ... How exciting !!! Oh have to mention we took part in the general knowledge quiz on board and guess what ... We won ... See all that useless information we all have is worth something... A bottle of wine!!!

So it's great to get to see Andrea and the kids ... they are growing up so fast ... Richard is 18 now and today is Lara's 15th birthday ... we're having a traditional German BBQ (braai for us ... ) with traditional Bratwurst and other stuffs !!! (ooh look food again ... gotta love it ;-)

Paul and Jurgen had to set off first thing this morning to take Paul's car to a Hyundai dealer locally cos his car was playing up on our way here ... hey hopefully we'll get back to the UK ??? If not we'll just have to spend more time here in Germany ... I think I can manage that :-o

So hopefully the weather will be good ... we'll have a good party and have loads of photos to up load ... oh Paul tells me this laptop can't upload from my chip !!! Oh well I'm sure we'll make a plan ...

Venting or just plain Moaning??? Either way ...

I woke up this morning feeling really p'd off with myself and everyone else around me too ... why is that ???

The sun is shining beautifully ... there's a clear blue sky... it's t-shirt weather ... so what's the problem ???

STILL no transport organised !!! Considering, according to the hubby it was all arranged for when we got here ... which was WHAT only 5 days ago ???

At the moment I'm kinda wishing I hadn't bothered coming on this holiday !!!

Hey this is my blog and I can 'vent' or moan ... which ever way you want to put it as much as I want ...

I too have plans for what I want to do on my trip here ... but best I keep the mouth shut ... the son is getting his holiday with his dad ... I've gotta organise mothers tickets for her to have her holiday (again ... anyone notice this familiar pattern but not going to say too much more on that subject otherwise !!!*#&!!) ... mother always told me there are 2 things you cannot change but you may regret once you've done them ... the spoken word and worse the written word !!!

SO No I am not enjoying my holiday TODAY !!!! L

Maybe later ????

Early Morning ....

We were up at 6am today !?! Who said this is a holiday???

Paul & Kelsey had a job over in Newmarket doing an install at the racecourse... so mum & I decided as we'd never been there what the heck ... We'll go too....
So now I've also been to Suffolk !!!

What a lovely place except we did'nt find a decent coffee shop!!! But there was a quaint 'antiques' flea market so I had fun 'rummaging' in others folks junk!!! It makes me sad when I see how people throw away/ sell old family photos ... That's someone's heritage being lost... but of course I managed to find a few bargains ....

I know you won't believe this but temp today even rose to 18c ... It was almost a heat wave pmsl ... Everyone (except me LOL) was out in their summer 'frocks'...

We've also managed to book ourselves on the overnight ferry from Hull to Rotterdam on Thursday night ... we're going over to Germany to visit my family there... It will be nice as it is Lara, my nieces 15th birthday on Saturday and she does'nt know we're coming !!! Well she will do now if she reads this blog pmsl! Oooh some photo ops :-)

I'm sitting here at 7.50pm and the sun is still shining ... the birds are still singing and it's a beautiful night ... how bizarre is that ??? For me it is ...

Oh well have to go make food for the hungry boys ... they're out a gym at the moment ... tomorrow gotta take Mother dearest to the train station to book her ticket ... she's off up to Newcastle upon Tyne for a couple of days to visit friends and family ... perhaps then my 'holiday' can really start ;-0...

Monday Blues ...

Already ??? Can't be ... no it's not the blues it's the fact I woke this morning to rain clouds ... that's what it is ... haven't seen those for a while !!!

So Paul & Kelsey are off out to work today ... they said they'd be back by lunch time ... I have to remind Paul that his son does need to eat regular meals ... not like Paul who thinks a pint of milk and a fag constitutes a good diet !!! ;-)

Shock! Horror! Amazement! I had to put a load of washing in ... we only had a limited amount of space in the suitcases ... and of course I brought too many of the wrong clothes .. and not enough of the right ones ... darn it I'll just have go shopping for more of the right ones... PMSL!!! BUT how does one get them dry here with no sunshine and no tumble drier ???? How the hell did I manage this for 8 years ??? (OH! Now I know why I have SO MANY clothes LOL)
OOH I forgot ... the airing cupboard !!! we don't have those thangs in SA ... that's where you hang the clothes ... how silly of me ;-0

Mum's back from her weekend of visiting Bella ... they had fun she said ... but I think she's feeling the blues this am too ... maybe it does have something to do with Mondays ??? Mind you I think her feet are itching to be off on the bus somewhere ... that's one of the things she really misses in SA her independence and the public transport ... well no-ones stopping her ;-)

Paul has organised a car for me for the rest of the holidays, we're picking it up this afternoon ... think he planned it this way so I couldn't get out too soon and shop LOL !!! (You know how I can make a Credit Card become elasticky ... so easy !!! )

Sunday, 13 June 2010

Settling down nicely ...

Its so funny the things you miss or rather don't notice when you live somewhere and then you leave that place ... and pop back for a visit...

I couldn't believe it on Friday night when I looked at my watch and it was already 8pm and we hadn't had supper and it was still light !!! Back in SA the sun goes down between 5.00 - 5.30pm and you don't even notice it but when you have an extra 5 hours of daylight there's so much more you can do... Paul & Kelsey went to gym and I popped into Tesco's while they were there ...

Now I know that sounds sad but even the supermarkets here are so different ... and as I love food shopping anyway ... the chance to spend a couple of hours in a supermarket is a pleasure for me ... Even if I don't buy anything (like that could ever happen !!! LOL) My first port of call was the book section ... BOGOF ... hell yes I just managed to find 8 books that I liked the sound of PMSL ... I by-passed the clothing section really not interested there !!!! Then it was onto food ... so many choices so many things I miss ... then Paul & Kelsey joined me and before you know it the food basket's got way more in it than expected !!! Kelsey was on a mega high ... you'd swear he'd never eaten before !!! LOL, mind you Paul was just as bad ... while he's here on his own he sticks to a strict diet (gym etc... ) so when we're here he just knows the diet is gonna go out the window ... now the fridge is full of all the wrong foods (naughty!! naughty !! it's not my fault I like food is it ???) And all of this was in our small Tesco ... imagine what I would be like in a bigger store ... or even ASDA or Sainsbury !!! ... I'll save that fun for next week (LOL)

We finally managed to get our Fish & Chips for supper ... OOOOh lovely cod ... even if it's from a bad fish shop (according to the locals) it was divine and with mushy peas too ...

On Saturday Paul took mum over to Bella's so the wrinklies could spend the day together and then off we three went to 'Chesvegus' (a.k.a. Chesterfield) ... now did I ever think in my life I would get excited about Saturday shopping in Chesterfield ??? No ... But there you have it, the place was all a buzz and with the market on ... it was so nice ... we don't have shopping in the high streets in SA, not like here in the UK ... over there its all 'Malls' even if there's a dozen of them strung together in the same street ... but you definitely don't have a Market Place like here ...

Kelsey was agog at the some of the sights (the fashion sense and some of the hairstyles !!!) he had us in fits with his comments !!! He finally got his food wish ... McD's for lunch ... yup you guessed it we do have McDonalds but they are not popular in SA ... Wimpy is our local fast food burger type joint ... so lunch at McDonald was his treat.

Then Paul got a call out for a job... so I thought whoopee I've got the rest of the afternoon to myself ... it lasted an hour ... then the two of them were back and causing chaos ...

You don't realise when you live with your child all the time, just how quickly that child can cause chaos !!! Kelsey's nice and clean bedroom (when we got here) now looks worse than if an atomic bomb had gone off in it ... Paul can't handle that ... But I have been training him to walk past the room and just close the door (PMSL)

So last nights dinner was another one of our favourites ... Buffet ... I'd bought a selection of cheeses, pate's, cold meats and breads ... we had some chicken wings and ribs and 'pigged' out ... (yes ok so this holiday is gonna be a lot about food I guess !!!) Maybe I should start a food calendar LOL ...

And today ??? It's gonna be a lazy movie indoorsy kinda day ... we had rain first thing this am but I'm pleased to say it has gone now ... in fact the sun came out for 5 minutes : which reminds me yet again of what Uncle Colin told us 10 years ago when we moved to the UK ... "If you don't like the English weather ... wait 5 minutes" how true ...

Friday, 11 June 2010

Mother Goose is here !!!

So we've landed safely ... although incredibly tired ... didn't sleep on any of the flights ... can't sleep sitting up :-) But I bet we'll be in bed early tonight ... (TO SLEEP !!! )

Got to catch up on some of the latest films ... How to Train a Dragon, New Moon (ooooH lovely boys in that one ;-) Wolfman ...(a bit disappointed in that one) Day Breakers (can you see a Vampire/Werewolf theme going on here???) and then just had to watch 2012 as I'd read the book Crystal Skull ... now I know why we moved to be near The Drakensberg !!! - watch the movie...

My ever so romantic Hubby was there at the airport with flowers of course ... (sloppy bugger!)

And then it's home to my lovely 'little' house ... sadly no SOLD sign up ... to be honest I was hoping Paul was keeping it a secret !!! But I have a month to work on it !!! Cos I really truly BELIEVE that we are going to have Paul home in South Africa for good by the end of this year (PLEASE !!!)

So chaos reigns in the lovely clean (rather empty) house ... and Paul has himself a shadow at the moment ... Kelsey is attached to his dad like glue ... the two of them are off to the gym tonight (after we've watched the Bafana Bafana - Mexico Game !!!) Travelled over here to get away from it and now here we are watching the first match on TV!!! LOL

Have to say there's plenty of England Flags out there flying ... just like in SA so once I get the cases open Paul's car will be decorated too !!!

Now what's for tea tonight - Friday gotta be Fish & Chips of course !!! May just have to pop into Tesco for a bit of a fix first !!! ;-)

Whooo Holidays ...

So the holidays are finally here !!!

The bags are almost packed ... why is it there's always that little something you forgot ??? Last minute stuff ins ... ??

The hand luggage is still standing open ... (spare knickers, deo, sweets, book and i-pod are packed LOL)

All the notes, messages and information for the dog, house and the car are done !!!

I have the tickets, passports and I've even checked us in on line !!! How clever am I ???

All that's left to do is .... oh! take the dog up to 'GingerRicki Kennels' (LOL) get her settled in there ... have a cuppa ...

Drop of the spare house keys to the neighbours ... have a cuppa ...

Get the child ready for the off ... well a couple of hours still for that ...

Another cuppa first ...

What else ... oh yes ... after dropping off the dog ... It's S.S.S get dressed in the travelling clothes ...

AND WAIT !!!

Aunty Irena's taking us to the airport and as we're flying out of the new Durban King Shaka Airport ... we've been advised to get there a lot earlier than normal .. they're still having teething problems (LOL)

AND WAIT !!!

Take off only at 18h40 tonight ...

OoooH have to mention ... it's bloody cold today too !!! Glad we're leaving this behind ... ;-)

For all my friends ...

A friend is a hand that is always holding yours, no matter how close or far apart you may be.
A friend is someone who is always there and will always, always care.
A friend is a feeling of forever in the heart.

Forgot these 2 gals from the previous photo shoot:

Bella & Indiana

Finally....

Can you believe it ... last blogged on the 1st !!! Been trying to find some time all week to write something and then when I have the time I can't get into blogger!!! Anyone else having the same problems??? AND now it's only taken me 2 days to write all this !!!!

So ... Just what have I been up too!??

Wednesday I went with Gr7's from Hillcrest Primary School to Hillcrest High School to see their performance of Grease ... We adults loved it but I think the kids needed to see the original to appreciate the songs and the story line ... but Hillcrest High put on a fantastic performance ... well done.

Wednesday afternoon I was a rugby mum again ... HPS 1sts played against Kloof Primary 1sts and we seriously creamed them .... 46-0. Kelsey was over the moon because he actually finally got to play for the 1st team. He's been on the reserve bench for them these past few weeks and what made the game even more special was he was playing against his rugby buddy Jason ... so the two of them had a chance to 'work out' !!! on each other !!!

Hillcrest Primary 1st Team & Kloof Primary 1st Team ...
Hillcrest 1sts 'Dream Team'
After the match ... Kelsey 2nd from right about to shake hands with rugby buddy Jason
Finally playing in that damned shirt !!!
And now he has achieved all his 'goals for 2010' !!!! I am sooo sooo proud of my son.

Thursday and Friday were relatively quiet after the hectic start to the week but the weekend soon made up for the quiet time ... I was at the HCA Winter Fair (which was a lot of fun and lots of networking took place !!! Really talking shite mum says!!! LOL )and Kelsey played rugby again against their 'arch rivals' Gelofte ... sadly I didn't get to see the game (but Aunty Irena came to the rescue and took Kelsey for me ... thank you ) and the 2nds (Kelsey's Team) lost 30-0 BUT 1sts were again victorious ... so it means HPS 1st Team won ALL their games for the 2010 School Rugby season, which is a phenomenal success ... they should all be very proud of themselves ... and I know all the parents & coaches are.

Sunday was Aunty June's Birthday so we spent the day with her, Aunty Irena, Babes, Nishi, Yudesh and baby Sianna ... we had a fantastic day together ...
The gorgeous Baby Sianna
All the gals: (L-R): Irena, Nishi, June, Janet, Babes, Sianna, Sheila
Yudesh (dad), Nishi (mum), Babes (granny), Sianna (baby)
3 generations : child/mum/ grannys ...
So now we are on the final week ... only 3 more days of school ... actually 2 full days and 3 hours ... they finish school at 10am on Wednesday, (waste of a clean uniform really LOL)

It doesn't look like there's much educating happening there this this week, yesterday was a 'Soccerthon' which the whole school took part in ... yesterday afternoon the 1sts played a friendly match against HCA ... another whitewash of 60-0 ... and Kelsey got to play in that match too ... so he was really over the moon and sadly that is now it .... those boys will never play rugby together as a team again .... School Rugby Season is officially over !!! Everyone felt a bit down after the match even though they had won .... BUT Kelsey ... we still have club rugby to look forward to and the season runs till September with the first match on the 18th July!!! So we have the school holidays to rest ... keep up the fitness and practise with a new bunch of guys !!! (oooh who would have thought I'd be excited about that ???)

And by the sounds of it they did even less today ... auditioning for their end of year play ... although they haven't decided what they're doing yet !!!! very strange !!!

AND

We've received some fantastically fandabydosy news today ... (well we would have had it last week if I'd gone to the post box!!!) we have received Kelsey's acceptance into Hillcrest High School ... It feels like a huge load has been lifted off my shoulders ... what a great way to start the holidays knowing that we are all set and ready for the next chapter in my boys life ...

NOW all that's left is to pack !!! ;-)

OOOH and as I have'nt blogged this week just HAVE to mention the gorgeous weather we've had ... cold chilly mornings (4 layers) by 10am warming up a bit (3 layers) lunch time temps anywhere from 25c - 30c (1 layer and less if possible LOL) by 3pm back to 3 layers and then by early evening 4 layers !!! Sunrise has been around 6.15am and sunset at about 5.10pm !!! Today the wind was soooo warm it was like walking in the dessert ... however I'm told that's a bad sign ... 1. Veld Fire Warnings 2. Could bring rain ...

It can do what the hell it wants after Thursday PMSL!!!

Tuesday, 1 June 2010

Single Digits !!! And a Chapter !!!

Well only 6 more days of school then we are off for 5 weeks while the rest of the world descends on SA for the 2010 Fifa World Cup ... sooo glad we won't be getting involved in that !!!!

And before all that ... we have such a crazy 6 days left ... today is Kelsey's last exam for this term ... he has been doing so well ... I am soooo proud of him ... unfortunately because this term is so short it has been decided that we won't get end of term reports (W.T.F) so I won't be able to brag about all his wonderful achievements again !!! But he's number 1 in my eyes always !!!

Today the Grade7's are going to the local Hospital as part of their Outreach Program and they are taking muffins & scones etc for breakfast ... they're going to play Bingo with the patients and generally have a good time ... Tomorrow we are taking them to the High School to see HHS Perfomance of Grease !!! I can't wait ... I volunteered to be a driver just so I could get to see the show !!! OOOOH ! (Hey I hope I get to see it !!! :-) .. and before you know it it's the end of another week.

Today is also our last Papercrafting class for this term ... so thought we'd do something a little different ... here's my sample I made for Kelsey's Room ..(oops PIT) . Hope the kids enjoy making these:

Staring with your chipboard shape : Door Hangers
Using Acrylic Paint ... decorate the back of your chipboard:
Cover wih patterned paper of choice ...use a nail file to sand around edges and make cut out cirle nice ans smooth ... ink around the edges to add the grundged look ...
Added some Craftime Alphanumerals to personalise it ... I'm still going to add ribbons and buttons to complete the decoarting. I'm sure the girls will add plenty of flowers too ...
This last weekend saw our boys Victorious Again ... only just though ... it was a tough game against Glenwood. (Check out these bruises: below is his leg and the one below that believe it or not is his elbow !!! it looked like he had 2 bones sticking out of the elbow... )

But we finally, in the 2nd half managed a try and conversion which gave us a 7-0 lead and we were screaming (well I was!!!) at the ref to blow the final whistle before they got any points on the board ... HPS 2nds I am sooo proud of you all ... you played a phenomenal game even though half of your team didn't even turn up and then some of them only decided to pitch half way through the game !!! Sometimes it's not the kids faults ... parents !!! I just don't understand why you encourage your child to play sports and then you don't support them or you can't even get your kid to the match on time !!!! (don't let me get on my soap box please!!! LMAO)

But what about those parents that 'encourage' their kids to play foul !!!! I had a b...ch of a mum tell me off !!!! because I told the younger players not to aspire to play like their 1st Team who were fouling left right and centre ... and one of our kids got slammed into the floor by one of their boys doing a 'spear' tackle ... which is illegal !!!! and the younger kids were applauding this and laughing that our kid was injured ... I told the Glenwood boys that I didn't think it was 'good sportsman like' and this bitch comes over to me and has a go at me !!! W.T.F !!!! Oh well sore looosers !!!! (Big L) And our 1st Rugby Team whooped their asses too ... HPS Rugby Rocks

Our Victorious 2nds who won 7-0 against Glenwood on Saturday.
Kelsey got to wear a 1st Rugby jersey ... but sadly (YET AGAIN) he did'nt get to play ... best I don't voice my opinion on that scenario !!! Mind you this is my blog and my opinion and I can say what I want on it ??? Right ??? Oh well mum has got him into so much trouble already with her big mouth maybe I'should keep that opinion to myself ... But I do have to say this 'I can't stand adults who have a 'God' like complex !!! who constantly dangle the 'golden carrot' and who have no intentions of EVER making good on their promises !!!! ... there enough said for now) I am soooo p'd off ... I am going to miss the BESTEST Ever clash ... this coming Saturday ... HPS vs Gelofte (they are the team everyone wants to beat !!!) and all our teams are getting geared up for their Saturday Show Down ... It's the last match of the season and as yet HPS1sts are undefeated ... our 2nds have had a great season too and I really really really wanted to see them all play on Saturday BUT I can't cos I booked myself a stall at the Hillcrest Christian Academy Winter Fair !!! ??? !!! Bugger can't have it both ways mum (yes if I had known these 2 dates would clash I would have 'sacrificed' making money to watch my son play against Gelofte !!! )

But thankfully Aunty Irena is going to take Kelsey for me ... and she has promised she'll try to get some photos ... all the other mum's have promised a full report for me ... and hopefully not as many injuries as the last time we clashed!!!

Talking of Aunty Irena - Happy Birthday to you for today ... we'll see you over the weekend to celebrate along with Aunty June !!!!
And so endeth this Chapter ... yet more to follow and soon ...
