Weekend !! What weekend ??

Oh that crazy hectic 2 days called Saturday & Sunday when you're supposed to be having R&R !!! NOT !!!

Thank God it's Monday ... I can have a rest LOL !!!

As you may have gathered by now my weekends are rushed and crazy and the rest of the week I sit around and do nothing ...well theoretically nothing !!! (always seem to be very busy with the nothing !!!)

Saturday had us up bright and early for the Carter Day Tournament at the High School ... that's where we have just about all the squads from Carter High come to our school and take part in sports ... Netball, Girls & Boys Hockey and of course RUGBY !!!!

Kelsey's team played a fantastic game ... started out a bit wobbly giving away a Try and conversion in the early part of the 1st half, but the boys didn't crumble and they pulled together and finally came out victorious scoring 2 Trys against Carter High winning with a score of 10-7 ... Kelsey played a really great game himself... got quite few good photos of him with the ball ... thankfully not too much of a physical game (like duh of course rugby is physical but what I mean is ... not too many bad tackles or serious injuries !!!)

Because it is a BIG tournament and we were hosting it ... our Fund Raising Committee (yes of course I'm on it !!!) were responsible for the catering for the day ... so after watching Kelsey play I was in the pancake van doing my BIT !!! and remained there for the duration of the morning !!!

(Sorry .. what happened to the 1 hour time slot only thing ???? See people it happens everywhere in the world .. there are always the same few helping and they get lumped with doing it all !!! OK I know I could say NO ... but it's not in my nature ... !!! ONE of these days all my good deeds will be rewarded ... but then someone recently told me that you will not get your rewards if you do it unwillingly !!! So that is why then !!! I'll never be rewarded will I cos I bi-atch and moan about it all the time !!! Oh well Que Serra !!!)

Moving forward ... I do believe MOST of the teams won ... so all round HHS sports dept. were happy campers ... of course we had to clean up too .. so by the time we got home it was after 3pm !!! Needless to say the rest of the afternoon was spent recovering ... Although Saturday night the blood pressure went through the roof again ... Sharks vs Bulls ... home game... huge rivals ... Sharks sank !!! badly !!! (but I do believe the Bulls had a certain person looking down on them from up there 'lending a hand' ... !!!)

Sunday I decided I was only going to 'POP' into the Heritage Market Bridal Fair ... after all I did the photo shoot for PheZulu and I wanted to see my work in all it's glory ... I arrived at the Fair at about 12.30pm and eventually got home around about 4pm ... very quick POP in ... but got conned again into taking some photos !!! and now I have Warren on my case again for a CD !!!
I really think I'm going to get 'MUGGINS' permanently tattooed on my forehead ... perhaps that way I will see it and be able to say NO !!!

And we've been hectically studying too ... it's EXAM week this week (well exam fortnight really) half year exams and they count for more than 1/2 of their final marks !!! stresssssssssed ... but I know we have been studying and I truly believe Kelsey will do his best as he always does and make me proud... again as he always does.

OK a strange couple of weeks ahead for us ... he goes to school normal time ... and he's only writing 1 paper a day so I'll be picking him up most days around 11am .. except for training days cos training still takes place !!! Come rain, sleet, shine, snow or exams ... sports continues !!! Then I'll be picking him up ???? aaaargh !!!when I get told to pick him up ... CRAZY ... and I'm supposed to be looking for a job ... how do parents who work cope ???

Then just to ADD to the confusion... this week WEDNESDAY the boys are playing rugby against 1 of their biggest rivals ... Michaelhouse ... AND it's an AWAY game so a quick 'POP' up to Pietermaritzburg ... mid week... middle of exams for a huge game !!! NO PRESSURE ... none whatsoever !!!! AND we are also playing again on Saturday ... another AWAY game at Northwood High ... which happens to have annihilated Glenwood this past weekend ... apparently something not heard of in however so many years !!! so NO PRESSURE there boys either ... carry on with the exams ... keep focused etc.etc.etc.

Oh BOY !!! I'll keep y'all posted ...............

Gosh ... another week passes ...

wow ... time really does fly when you're having fun !!!

Last week just seems to be one big blur with Tuesday being probably my most exciting day ... I was asked to do a promotional 'Bridal Photoshoot' for a local venue that is trying to launch itself into the Wedding Venue market!!! and as we are in the New South Africa we had a beautiful blushing (Caucasian) European bride (Summer) with a tall dark & handsome African groom (David) ... The venue was PheZulu Safari Park ... and the views from there are stunning, I'm sure any couple would love to have that backdrop to their wedding photos, and I wish Veronica & her team at PheZulu good luck in getting launched into the Wedding Venue Market Place ...

Would love to show you some of the pics but blogger just does'nt want to play nicely .... been trying to upload photos for last 2 days !!!

Needless to say most of the rest of the week was taken up editing... and making sure the photos were just right for the posters that are going to be on display at the various Wedding Fairs around Durban !!! Well my pictures are going to be famous even if I'm not ... LOL !!!

June had a weeks holiday last week so we booked (LOL) a girlie's day out on Wednesday ... did loads of shopping (way too much in fact, I'm now broke till next time I can make some moola for myself !!!) drank tons of coffee and ate all the wrong foods of course ...

Kelsey's week has been its usual hectic dash between school and rugby training ... Saturday saw them playing another home game against Crawford College and needless to say the U14 side won 22-15... well done boys, especially as they were all feeling very down after the week before's loss !!! And in fact HHS had a very successful day of rugby ... I think all the teams bar 1 won their matches ... and the team that lost was a reserve U14-15 mixed squad that had never played together before Saturday ... so no major tears shed there ...

Sunday Kelsey & his mates went paint-balling !!! Not sure if there were any real 'games' played or they all just shot the shit out of each other ... but he came home with a few extra bruises and a lovely welt on his neck ... gonna tell his mates at school its a LOVE bite !!! well it looks like one !!! LOL ...

Now this week it's down to some serious studying ... next week he starts EXAMS for 2 weeks !!! Hectic stuff ... in the hall... silence, no bags, no phones etc. etc. Big Boy Exams !!! But the funny thing is they only have to go to school if they have an exam on AND then they can come home after their exam is finished ... so he'll only be at school 2.5 - 3 hours a day for the next 2 weeks !!! I wonder how the hell poor parents that work cope ??? Lots of lift clubs and friends helping out I'm told !!! AND if he thinks he's gonna spend the extra time off loafing ... hell no we have a STRICT study programme... (hey he has set himself a target not me !!! and he wants to get into the Top 10 of his year group)

Oh forgot to mention ... This week Wednesday 18th the schools are closed - VOTERS DAY ... yes you read it right ... the schools close so that ??? Parents can go out to vote ??? doesn't make much sense does it ??? BUT this is AFRICA !!! (democracy etc... )

And that's about as exciting as it gets folks ...

The weather ... been up and down ... best to be an onion these days ... LAYERS lots of them ... this week alone we have had ... Thunder Storms, Lightning, Rain, Mist, Wind, Fog, Cold as low as 9'c and heat as high as 28'c ... Most nights it hot water bottles just to take the chill off the bed ... drying of clothes takes several days except for the odd 28'c day !!! You've just gotta be very flexible this time of the year LOL

A quick pop out of hibernation ...

just to bring you all up to date with my incredibly exciting... stimulating ... wanna have ... hectic life !!!

So since I last blogged ::::

It was my BESTIES EVER 's 40th Birthday on 29th April ... sadly I didn't get to see her but she knows I was thinking of her and sending big LUVVIES her way ... POSTNET helped us out there !!! She had a really Royal Birthday .. celebrated it on the Big Wedding Day LOL ...

We had a long weekend that weekend too ... no not because of the Royal Wedding ... but because of Workers Day 1st May ... that whole weekend was taken up with photo shoot for Tony's 50th Birthday and a Family Photo shoot on Monday .... needless to say a whole week of photo editing ( I know I said I would never do it ... but ... I also said I would never scrapbook either LOL ... not my fault I am so fickle !!!)

Of course Kelsey' s team played rugby on Saturday 30th ... against Port Shepstone and beat them by a mere 41-0 ... they also played rugby this weekend ... didn't do so well this time though ... they lost 12-0 against St.Henry's College ... the boys took this defeat really hard cos they were on a winning streak and it was the first time they had lost !!!

(Their Most Dedicated Supporter (ME) got told to read the 'code of conduct' !!! by Michelle ... still have no idea why !!! but hey it will be the last time I bother to (shout oops) support the boys ... seems to support them all you have to do is stand on the side lines and say nothing !!! oh well you live and learn !!! ;-)

My darling hubby did not forget our wedding anniversary on the 3rd May ... hey and I didn't forget either ... I just didn't send him flowers LOL ... Gosh I'm sure by now if I'd murdered him I'd be out for good behaviour (oops no cos I don't know how to behave myself !!!)

Had a parents/teacher meeting last week ... Kelsey is doing very well at school ... teachers are impressed with him, only fault per say was he can get a little talkative in class !!! (have no idea where that comes from LOL) !!! I had to have a 'go' at him cos his last 2 tests were a disaster ... however luckily for him ... the teachers said the whole class did bad in their NS test so Mrs S is going to let them re-write it !!! See the excuse/reason was all the public holidays ... well that's what the kids blamed ... they said they all got confused over when the test was !!!! (lucky buggers ... but in fairness if Mrs S kept those results in the class average would drop badly too !!) So TODAY is re-write day ... let me tell you I now know EVERYTHING about The Phases of Matter !!!! PMSL

This past weekend ... was hectic ... as previously mentioned ... Kelsey had rugby ... I foolishly booked a stall at the HPS Family Fun Day (well we had fun last year & did really well !!!) and mum had been asked to doggy sit for Bella & Shadow ... so there I was needing to be in 2 places at once at the same time !!! Why oh why do I do this ??? But "I will survive" and I did ... thanks to Chloe coming to my rescue ... she only had to be at the High School in time to watch Shaun play in the 1sts !!! In fact our timing worked out really well ....

AGAIN the only thing we had no control over !!! The damned weather ... woke on Saturday morning to overcast skies but thought positive it wasn't going to rain !!! HA ! just got all set up and the heavens opened !!! rained like it had never rained before ... I abandoned Chloe to a wet & soggy table and told her not to stress I would be back to pack it all up after the U14 game .... by the time the game was over ... the sun came out and the rest of the day was beautiful (pity that didn't help change my mood !!! I think drugs is the only course now LOL )

Over-all I think the Family Fun Day was a success ... even with the very slow & wet start ... I know 'the after party' was enjoyed by a few !!! (what after party ??? ... not me I went straight home and was a very good boring girl PMSL, that damned twin sista' of mine making my name MUD !!!)

And then finally yesterday ... Mother's Day here in SA ... it pissed with rain all day ... was cold wet & miserable (bit like me then) ... I woke with very painful legs ... they're getting way to old for all this running around, standing all day and dancing all night LOL ... no son, no hubby and not even my mother !!! what a way to spend Mothers Day !!! On your own ... and NO this is not a celebratory 'on your own' this is a 'sick and tired of it' on your own !!! All the other mothers - out there being spoilt by their families... going to Breakfasts, Lunches ... generally having a family fun time !!!

Oh well I guess that's what you get when you 'choose' this life !!! ( and if you can't pick up the sarcasm in that ... then I'm definitely doing something wrong !!!)
